Albany Times Union

The Times Union is a major daily newspaper, serving the Capital Region of New York, United States. Newsday is a daily American newspaper that primarily serves Nassau and Suffolk counties and the New York City borough of Queens on Long Island, although it is sold throughout the New York metropolitan area. As of 2009, its weekday circulation of 377,500 was the 11th-highest in the United States, and the highest among suburban newspapers. The newspaper's headquarters are in Melville, New York, in Suffolk county.

Middletown Times Herald-Record

The Times Herald-Record, often referred to as The Record in its coverage area, is a daily newspaper published in Middletown, New York, covering the northwest suburbs of New York City. It covers Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties in New York; Pike County in Pennsylvania; and Sussex County in New Jersey. The newspaper's news-gathering operations are largely decentralized, the result of its large geographic reach. Its news staff reports from four communities. The Daily News of New York City is the fifth most-widely circulated daily newspaper in the United States with a daily circulation of 632,595, as of June 13, 2009. The first U.S. daily printed in tabloid form, it was founded in 1919, and as of 2007 is owned and run by Mortimer Zuckerman. It has won ten Pulitzer Prizes.

The Wall Street Journal is an English-language international daily newspaper published by Dow Jones & Company, a division of News Corporation, in New York City, with Asian and European editions. The Wall Street Journal has the largest circulation of any newspaper in the United States. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, it has a circulation of 2.1 million copies (including 400,000 online paid subscriptions) as of October 2009 compared to USA Today's 1.9 million. Its main rival in the business newspaper sector is the London-based Financial Times, which also publishes several international editions. The Journal primarily covers U.S. and international business, and financial news and issues. Its name derives from Wall Street in New York City, the heart of the financial district, a nd has been printed continuously since its inception on July 8, 1889, by Charles Dow, Edward Jones, and Charles Bergstresser. The newspaper version has won the Pulitzer Prize thirty-three times, including 2007 prizes for its reporting on backdated stock options and the adverse effects of China's booming economy.

Poughkeepsie Journal

The Poughkeepsie Journal is a newspaper based in Poughkeepsie, New York owned by the Gannett Company. Founded in 1785 (though not a daily newspaper until 1860), the Journal is the oldest paper in New York state, and is the third-oldest in the nation.[citation needed] The Journal's primary coverage area is Dutchess County, though the entire Mid-Hudson Valley is covered in some form, along with some coverage of points south via the White Plains-based Journal News.

Rochester Democrat and Chronicle

The Democrat and Chronicle is the most widely circulated daily newspaper in the greater Rochester, New York area. Located at 55 Exchange Boulevard in downtown Rochester, the Democrat and Chronicle operates under the ownership of Gannett. The paper's production facility is located in the town of Greece.

Staten Island Advance

The Staten Island Advance is a daily newspaper published in the borough of Staten Island in New York City. The only daily newspaper published in the borough it covers news of local and community interest, including borough politics. It is currently owned by the Advance/Newhouse Group, which derives its name from this newspaper.

Westchester Journal News

The Journal News is a newspaper in New York serving the suburban New York City counties of Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam, a region known as the Lower Hudson Valley. It is owned by the Gannett Company, Inc.
